It is with deep regret that we must announce the cancellation of our 2021 Greenwing Youth event. Given the ongoing COVID-19 crisis and the rate at which we are 'returning to normal' we have assessed that an event such as Greenwing will simply not be feasible by June 6. We will be back next year and hope to see you all then.
St. Mary's County Chapter will host its annual Greenwing event at the Sanner's Lake Sportsmen's Club in Lexington Park, Maryland. Use 21374 Sanners Lane, Lexington Park, MD 20653 in your GPS.
The Greenwing Outdoor Day is a youth focused event for kids aged 17 and under. The Greenwing event is designed to promote outdoor sportsman activities. Stations include:
The day starts with an 8:00 a.m. registration (closing at 8:45), continues with a 9:00 a.m. police demonstration, and is followed by station rotation. Groups of 15-20 children will rotate between stations every 30 minutes with all children having the opportunity to participate in each station. Groups are encouraged to participate and will be kept together to the fullest extent possible.
The Greenwing Day includes a hot lunch and each registered child receives a DU Greenwing Membership.
It is required by Ducks Unlimited that children are accompanied by an adult the complete day of the event.
